Lynden Park is owned and operated by the Ross Family of which Jill Ross and her daughter Julie Nairn have been successfully operating the business.
Over the years Lynden Park’s brand ( R over L ) has been in many winner enclosures from country meetings to the elite Group Level.
Lynden Park has been responsible for producing to date well over 890 individual winners, 57 stakes horses including Four outstanding Group One performers.
Our most successful runner of recent times is the multiple Cox Plate Champion Fields of Omagh. Our most recent success story is the amazing Apache Cat winner of the Gr1 Australian Guineas who was bred at Lynden Park..
After many years of running the business as a stud farm it is now time for changes and a new direction for the business.
After well over two decades of breeding and rearing high class performers, Lynden Park Stud on the Mornington Peninsula will scale down – Jill Ross looking forward to enjoying a semi-retirement after decades of passionate hard work.
Both Jill and Julie who are still passionate about breeding and the industry will continue under the banner of “Lynden Park Bloodstock ” and will manage the careers of their two stallions Desert King (Danehill – Sabaah by Nureyev) and Golden Snake (Danzig – Dubian by High Line).
Desert King, the deservedly popular sire of 24 stakes winners including the
Gr.1 champs Makybe Diva, Desert War, Mr Dinos, Darshalam, Lachlan River and Chelsea Rose moves to Independent Stallions.
Meanwhile up and comer Golden Snake – a horse in whom Lynden Park “have a lot of faith,” will make Bombora Downs at Bittern his new home. A four times Gr.1 winner who just kept getting better with age Golden Snake is one of the best bred stallions in Australia – being a son of Danzig and the Champion Gr.1 winner Dubian, also dam of the champion filly Sayyedati.
A New Start , A New Direction ……
We look forward to a continued involvement with our clients and their horses . We will be keeping a number of well bred mares and are planning on other future stallion syndications… “We are continuing on with the passion,” said Jill’s daughter, Julie Nairn.
Nairn, well respected for her knowledge of breeding and bloodlines, will continue to market both stallions under the Lynden Park Bloodstock Banner and will stay involved with both stallions, keen to ensure the continued success of each horse for shareholders and mare owners.
